Adopt-A-Home Guidelines
- Any local church group, business, club or individual (must be 18 years or older) may adopt a Rush Home.
- Groups will be required to adopt the home for at least two years with a minimum of four work days per year. Groups may opt to adopt the home for longer than the minimum and may choose to volunteer more frequently if needed/wanted.
- Groups with members less than 18 years of age must be supervised by an adult.
- Participants must sign the Participation and Release form prior to each work day.
- Minors must have parental consent before volunteering. A Minor Consent Form must be filled out (only once per child, not per work day).
- Adopting groups will schedule their own work days.
- Any time you have a question or need something prior to a work day (i.e. if you need mulch, paint, weed killer, etc.) and you cannot reach someone at our office, you may call our maintenance manager Al Maddox at 434-426-1884. We ask that you please call Al prior to each work day so that he may stay in the loop regarding work needed, work completed, etc. Please let him know which group you are from and which home you are adopting.
- After completing a work day, the contact person must fill out a Volunteer Work Report and send it back to our office (fax, email, or mail).
- Rush Homes reserves the right to terminate groups who are not performing the minimum duties and assign the home to another group.
- Rush Homes reserves the right to approve and/or deny all Adopt-A-Home applications.
- Rush Homes reserves the right to revise these terms as needed.
