Karen joined the Rush Homes team in August of 2018. Her responsibilities include managing office activities, providing support to tenants and people seeking housing, assisting staff in property management, project development, and fundraising/marketing, bookkeeping and coordinating volunteers. She is the first point of contact for Rush Homes whether in the office, via email, or telephone. Karen is a graduate of Lynchburg College. She is originally from New Hope, Pennsylvania. Her father was diagnosed in 2003 with Parkinson’s Disease and her husband sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury in February of 2006. She and her family understand first-hand the challenges which exist for people with disabilities. She and her husband Tom have two children. Their son Michael is married and lives in Illinois with his wife, Bridget, as well as Karen and Tom’s grand-daughter, Meredith. Their daughter Annmarie is currently a senior attending VA Tech. In her free time, she loves to travel, read, paint, and spend time with her family and her fur babies.
